Peer Support is For All
🌟 Peer support is for all. 🫂
Peer support refers to when one person supports another, especially when they have shared experiences, belong to the same community, or identify in similar ways.
In 2024, over 8,900 individuals who identify as #LGBTQIAN+ (including bisexual, gay, lesbian, queer, transwoman, transman, and other) have had calls with our volunteer listeners on Sati Application to share their stories. The no.1 most common topic discussed by LGBTQIAN+ users was #Relationship, followed by #Family and #Loneliness.
In Thailand, even though we are known for being diverse and accepting, data from the Sati App shows that relationship issues remain a big concern for LGBTQIAN+ individuals. And research in LGBTQIAN+ shows that when social support is low, individuals may struggle with suicidal thoughts.
At the moment, many LGBTQIAN+ individuals also face challenges in accessing healthcare services, which keeps them from getting the support they truly need.
Peer support serves as a crucial bridge connecting different groups and helping us understand each other better, regardless of age, education, appearance, or gender identity.
With support from everyone in the society, better mental health is accessible for everyone. Let’s keep building an inclusive environment for all together. 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️🩵
